We recently completed a successful delivery of 5 units of XGN-40.5 high voltage switchgear to a major manufacturing facility in South Africa for their self-built substation project. The XGN-40.5 switchgear delivered for this South African substation project features comprehensive safety and protection specifications. Our project manager Leo thoroughly researched South African substation standards and confirmed the core technical parameters with the client, providing a tailored solution. The switchgear configuration features a rated frequency of 50Hz, rated voltage of 40.5kV with 36kV operating voltage, and 630A busbar rating, fully compliant with IEC-62271-100 and IEC-62271-200 international standards.

The XGN-40.5 switchgear utilizes advanced SF6 gas insulation technology, offering superior arc-extinguishing capabilities and a more compact design compared to traditional air-insulated switchgear. For our clients' factory projects, we have customized configurations based on their specific load requirements and provided detailed electrical schematics and installation drawings to simplify the substation construction process.

 

Each XGN-40.5 high voltage switchgear is equipped with IP3X protection rating to prevent solid foreign objects from entering the equipment, ensuring safe operation in industrial environments. IP67-rated SF6 gas box ensures complete dust protection and short-term water immersion resistance, reducing gas leakage risk and insulation degradation. For industrial self-owned substations, it enables 40.5 kV stable operation, lower failure rates and extended maintenance intervals, dust-laden indoor industrial environments.

In early November when the high-voltage switchgear project kicked off, Leo conducted multiple video calls with the client to review and finalize technical specifications.

In these meetings, he walked the client through the entire workflow which covers initial design, manufacturing and final assembly. The client paid close attention to critical parameters including the busbar thickness, cabinet body thickness, quality of internal components and product temperature rise performance.

To address these concerns thoroughly, Leo used a vernier caliper to take on-site thickness measurements for the client's verification. He also shared a detailed list of internal components for their review and provided a complete video recording of the temperature rise tests.

Leo's meticulous approach ultimately earned the client's full trust and approval.
