Product Overview
The GW4 Outdoor high voltage isolation switch is AC 50 Hz outdoor HV equipment designed to provide reliable hv isolation for a wide range of power systems. Available in rated voltage grades of 40.5 kV, 72.5 kV, 126 kV, and 252 kV, this device can open and close high-voltage circuits under no-load conditions and perform the electrical isolation of tested high-voltage buses, circuit breakers, or charged high-voltage circuits. It can also make and break small capacitive or inductive currents when needed.
For large transmission networks, a 132 kv isolator with earth switch is often installed alongside the GW4 to enhance earthing safety and ensure complete hv isolation during maintenance. As a robust Outdoor high voltage isolation switch, the GW4 meets demanding operational requirements, and when paired with a 132 kv isolator with earth switch, it delivers the dependable hv isolation necessary to protect equipment and personnel across high-voltage installations.
Structure instruction
The isolating switch consists of base, insulating post, conducive pant and operating mechanism. Each pole has two posts, and at the top of post, there are two conductive blades. The contact of two blades contacts are in the middle of two posts. At the bottom of post, there are bearing sheathes; by the action of operating mechanism, the blade is able to rotate 90°, so as to meet the opening and closing requirements.
The isolating switch is of single-pole type, however, it can be formed into the interlinked three-pole type through connecting the three poles with the connection rod. It is equipped with CS11 type or CS17 type manual operation mechanism, thereinto, CS17 is used for the isolating switch with earthing device. In addition, C6 motor mechanism may be equipped according to the needs.

On the basis of the above mentioned structure instruction, it is easy to see that the isolating switch has reasonable structure and flexible operation. Both the single-pole type and three-pole type are available. And it is featured with convenient installation; the clearance of open contact blades is large and the insulation is reliable. According to customers' needs, it may be provided with the single-side earthing mode or double earthing mode.
Working Condition
- Ambient air temperature: upper limit +40°C, lower limit -25°C;
- Altitude: 1000m and below;
- Relative humidity: monthly average not exceeding 90%,
- Daily average not exceeding 95%;
- The surrounding air should not be significantly contaminated by corrosive or flammable gases and water vapor, etc.: no frequent violent movement;
- Pollution resistance level: Class II.
- If the usage conditions exceed the above specifications, they shall be determined through consultation between the user and the manufacturer.
Usage environmental conditions
1.Altitude: 1000~3000m;
2.Ambient air temperature: -30℃~+45℃ (No less than -40℃ in alpine region);
3.Wind pressure does not exceed 700 Pa (equal to wind speed 34m/s);
4.Seismic intensity does not exceed 8 degrees;
5.Thickness of ice coating: no more than 10mm;
6.Installation place: free of flammable and explosive objects, chemical corrosion and drastic vibration;
7.Pollution grade of post insulator: common type is Ⅱ grade, anti-pollution type is Ⅲ, Ⅳ.
