This advanced 33 kv vacuum circuit breaker is mainly used in medium-voltage overhead line power grids, providing safe and efficient operation for breaking and making load current, overload current, and short-circuit current. The 33 kv vacuum circuit breaker also supports 0 to 3 times automatic reclosing, ensuring stable performance even in demanding environments. In addition, the ZW32-12 outdoor type can be paired with an 11 kv vacuum circuit breaker for flexible configurations, allowing the 33 kv vacuum circuit breaker system to adapt to different voltage levels and application scenarios with ease.

Structure and Working Principle

 

 

The ZW32-12M type vacuum permanent magnet circuit breaker mainly consists of an integrated solid-sealed pole, current transformer, permanent magnet operating mechanism, and box body. This type is designed to be miniaturized, with a high-quality stainless steel box body. It also features a manual emergency opening device. The isolating switch and current transformer can be selected according to users' requirements.

The control of the ZW32-12M permanent magnet vacuum circuit breaker is managed by a matching intelligent control unit. It can perform local opening and closing operations and can also be remotely operated via a communication interface.

Additional information about the circuit breaker can also be transmitted to the control center, with communication channels available through cables, fibers, GPRS/CDMA, GSM, etc.

The intelligent control unit is installed close to the circuit breaker and is connected to the circuit breaker via control cables. The power supply for the intelligent control unit is divided into main and backup power supply. The main power supply is AC or DC 220V, obtained from the high-voltage line through a potential transformer (PT). The backup power is provided by a battery (installed inside the intelligent control unit box). Under normal operating conditions, the main power supply charges the backup power supply. When the main power supply fails, the backup power supply takes over, allowing continued control of the circuit breaker and other operations within the control unit. The backup power can sustain the entire system for no less than 24 hours (under full load conditions).

A manual emergency opening handle is provided in the operating mechanism of the circuit breaker as the control system or an emergency opening for a power failure.

1. Arc-extinguishing Principle: The ZW32-12M type permanent magnet vacuum circuit breaker adopts a vacuum interrupter with vacuum as the arc extinguishing and insulating medium, characterized by extremely high vacuum levels. When the moving and static contacts open under the action of the operating mechanism while carrying current, a vacuum arc will be generated between the contacts. At the same time, due to the special structure of the contacts, an appropriate longitudinal magnetic field is generated in the gap of the contacts, which promotes the vacuum arc to remain in a diffusion type, and ensure the arc is evenly distributed on the surface of the contact to bum, maintaining a low arc voltage. When the current naturally crosses zero, the remaining ions, electrons and metal vapor can recombine or condense on the contact surface and the shield in the order of microseconds, quickly restoring the dielectric insulation strength across the interrupter gap, thereby extinguishing the arc to achieve the purpose of breaking the circuit. Due to the use of longitudinal magnetic field control over the vacuum arc, the vacuum circuit breaker has strong and stable breaking current capability.

2. Energy Storage: The ZW32-12M permanent magnet vacuum circuit breaker stores the energy required for opening and closing in a high-performance capacitor, which is installed in the intelligent controller unit box. During opening and closing operations, the energy is provided by the instantaneous discharge of the capacitor. The charging energy for the capacitor is supplied by the main power source or backup power source of the control unit, with a charging time of no more than 10 seconds and a capacitor voltage error of no more than 1V.

3. Closing Operation: By pressing the closing button on the local intelligent control unit or through remote control closing operations, the closing coil of the operating mechanism is energized, causing the iron core to drive the moving contact of the circuit breaker to close at a specified speed. Once the breaker is detected to be in the closing position, the control circuit automatically cuts off the power to the closing coil. At this point, due to the effect of the permanent magnet, the iron core remains on the closing side. After the closing coil is de-energized, it can not only overcome the reaction force of the circuit breaker contact spring but also has a self-holding force in the closing position, ensuring the breaker reliably stays in the closing position.

4. Opening Operation: By pressing the opening button on the local intelligent control unit or through remote control opening operations, the opening coil of the operating mechanism is energized. This action overcomes the self-holding force of the permanent magnet on the closing side, while the opening spring pulls the iron core to drive the moving contact of the circuit breaker to open at a specified speed. Once the breaker is detected to be in the opening position, the control circuit automatically cuts off the power to the opening coil. At this point, the iron core remains on the opening side due to the force of the opening spring, ensuring the breaker reliably stays in the opening position.

5. Manual Emergency Opening Operation: When the breaker is in the closing position, use an insulated operating rod to hook the pull ring on the manual opening handle of the breaker and pull it downward. The breaker will open and maintain a certain opening speed, ensuring that the breaker can reliably break the rated load current.
